Huck- AKC Miniature Australian Shepherd for sale in Columbia, Missouri

$900

Huck is a 4 week old red tri male AKC registered
Miniature American Shepherd. My husband and I are
both in veterinary school at the University of
Missouri. We take the health, care, and upbringing
of our puppies very seriously and want to mold the
best companions possible. Huck's mother, Rue, is
our household pet that we have had since she was
born. This is her second litter and she produces
very sociable and smart puppies. Prior to starting
vet school I worked for the state of Missouri as
an Animal Welfare Officer and had the privilege of
inspecting breeding kennels across the state. We
started our line of dogs and currently use stud
services from a well known kennel in Missouri that
breeds high quality Mini Americans. I have seen
many breeders mix full size Aussies with smaller
toy breeds to make their puppies "toy". Our dogs
are bred down from generations of smaller sized
standard Aussies to get the more compact Mini
American without compromising the personality
traits that we love about Aussies. Their mature
weight tops out at 25-30 pounds and they stand
about 18 inches tall. The mini's are the perfect
size for an apartment or working cattle on a farm,
they truly are versatile for any home! Aussies are
very active and love having a job, our female Rue
loves to go to agility class every week! There is
a huge benefit in getting a pet from a family
raised home versus a commercial kennel. At 4 weeks
old we are already potty and crate training our
pups. They get used to normal household sounds
like vacuuming and TV's and also get socialized
non-stop with humans and other animals. Huck so
far has been the laid back puppy of the litter, he
likes to sit back and observe what's going. If we
could keep one of the puppies it definitely would
be Huck, he has stolen our hearts already!
